Jumeriah Mosque

Jumeirah Mosque is one of the oldest and the most beautiful mosques of Dubai and the only one open to nonmuslims. It has been in the medieval Fatimid tradition with simple yet beautiful designs using natural coloured stone walls and stone carvings. The iconic architecture is very similar to the Umayyad era of Egyptian mosques in Al-Azhar and around Cairo. The Jumeirah Mosque is often referred to as the bridal Mosque of Dubai because of its innate beauty.

The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding organizes a 75 minute guided tour for non-Muslims, followed by a question-and-answer session on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday beginning at 10 AM. The tour is aimed at promoting cultural understanding and first-hand experience as an insight into the faith of Islam. Photography is allowed inside.

Few things to remember when you go for the tour: • Children under 5 are not allowed • Dress conservatively: no bare legs or upper arms. Wear modest clothing and women must cover their hair. • You must remove your shoes before entering.
